Jewel is a professional bellydancer who teaches weekly classes and performs regularly across Melbourne. With ten years of ballet training behind her, Jewel discovered bellydancing in the mid-1990's and immediately felt a natural affinity for this most beautiful of art forms. She trained primarily through The Seventh Veil, and today continues to develop her expertise with workshops from some of Egypts most outstanding instructors - including Aida Nour, Liza Laziza, Tito and Yasmina.

As a teacher of bellydance, Jewel is well-known for her enthusiasm and clear communication. She creates a joyous, non-judgemental atmosphere in the classroom while nurturing technical and artistic achievement. Jewel's love of teaching is supported by ongoing professional development to improve her teaching skills and understanding of the history, music and culture of Middle Eastern Dance. Jewel has received a Safe Dance Practice certificate from the Queensland University of Technology.

Jewel teaches all levels of classes through her studio business ‘Jewel Bellydance'. She has previously taught at The Seventh Veil, and has run additional courses at Victoria University, Fernwood, Ladyworks and Focus Fitness Centres. She is also retained by a number of secondary schools to teach workshops every term.

Jewel performs professionally across Melbourne, at weddings, hens nights, birthday parties, corporate and bellydance events. She is a vivacious performer known for her graceful movement and impressive technical skill. Having performed regularly as a singer, musician and dancer since childhood, Jewel displays extensive stage experience. Jewel is able to perform many styles of Middle Eastern dance, including prop-work with the veil, cane, finger cymbals and sword.
